ACC Partners:: ACC 4F Update for spring- still snow here!

Dear Friends across America and the World,

With great anticipation, we are just four weeks away from graduating our seventh class! It is a miracle to see how the Lord has worked in these first seven years from humble beginnings. I get to see so many of you when I am out speaking and love to tell you the story of what God is doing here. I was so pleased to be at Newport Covenant in Bellevue, WA to eagerly share the great stuff going on here. Let me pass on to you some of those things:

Freshmen-We have already seen a few students receive additional scholarships this semester due to the “candidate status” ruling last month in Florida from our accrediting agency. We hope that more students are able to connect with corporations and scholarships to receive funding. We are heavily recruiting for the 2008-2009 year. We had nearly 30 high school students attend our campus for our Uiniq retreat April 10-13. Pray for our new fall students and returning students that the Lord will call our way.

Faculty- We are beefing up some areas of academia around here and will be adding and replacing some positions while others will move to new areas on campus. Thanks to adjunct faculty and faculty on sabbatical from other institutions that are coming forth! Pray for the financial support for each of our faculty team who are asked to raise support towards our combined mission. As you pray, remember that they are the educators of our institution that need additional care and love as they meet daily with students to educate them and disciple them in God’s Word.

Facility- We are excited to have almost 150 friends of ACC coming this summer to work on nine different projects. We are working hard on the remodel of the log cabin purchased adjacent to our campus this summer. Pray for a grant from a major foundation that is considering funding a portion of the overall costs of this building. We are grateful for some summer-long volunteers who are coming as well- The DeVries family, The Greenwood family, and others coming for shorter amounts. We hope to see some of you this summer, too!

Finances- Quarterly payments? I don’t know how they do it- but our largest bills all seem to come at once each quarter- facility insurance, pension payments, and medical insurance. Do they all get together at lunch and decide this? J April 15 has come and they are here! Please pray for gifts to come today and this first part of the month so we can pay these important and necessary bills and stay in the black. We trust our partners and the Lord to see us through these burdens.

Finally, I had the joy of co-leading a team of 16 (including my family) who spent spring break living in tents in 42 degree weather to serve in Mexico. For 18 years, I have been bringing students to northern Mexico and never lose the reminder that we have so much to be thankful for when so many have so little. The policeman who stood guard almost 24 hours a day for six days without sleep earned probably a few hundred dollars for his work. The lady making tortillas made much less. I am a privileged person. I want to do whatever God calls me and ACC to do to reach out to Alaska. Thanks for your support in our mission, much further north than Chiapas, Mexico.

Together serving the King,
