Mexico
Primary Purpose
This ministry serves the vital purpose of feeding the poor. In many cases, the gospel cannot be heard over a grumbling stomach, and providing for physical needs is the first step before the Word can be taught.
Partner Ministry
SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY in Nicaragua!
We have partnered with Missionary Ventures International, to reach out to children and the poor in Nicaragua, which has been ripped by war and ravaged by deadly hurricanes in recent years. Missionary Ventures offers short-term mission opportunities for individuals or families interested in working in any of several projects, including clinics, orphanages, hospitals and a special clinic for dying children. Anyone interested in this vital ministry may contact Missionary Ventures directly.

What can you do for a kid who lives in the dump?
Behind the city of Mazatlan lives the “poorest of the poor”; families living in a shanty-town clinging to the fringes of the city dump. A typical day here consists of foraging through the refuse of Mazatlan for scraps that can be sold to pay the rent to live in the dump. Food can be found, but only for those who meet the garbage trucks as they dump their smelly cargo.
You can buy him lunch.
Stewart and Tammy Smith have joined with 25-year Mexico missionaries Fred and Debbie Collom to help meet the needs of the poor in Mazatlan. Fred and Debbie are currently pastoring “La Vina” (the vineyard); the only full time bi-lingual Christian church in Mazatlan.
How Can I Get Involved?
Pray
The strongholds in Mexico are both physical and spiritual, with each playing off the other in a seemingly endless cycle. Pray that as the physical needs of local people are met, they will be receptive to the gospel. Pray also for the strengthening of the Mexican church as they work with others God is calling to this ministry, that they will be able to respond to the many challenges they face.
Give
This ministry is supported by the donations of ministry partners just like you who have a heart for the work, whom God has called to help on a one-time or regular basis. If you wish to help, place your contributions in offering containers at FCC, and mark them “Stewart and Tammy Smith”. The funds will go directly to their ministry account. If you prefer, funds can be mailed directly to the Mission Department at FCC, at the following address:
