ACC 4F Update- and the answer regarding accreditation is…(drum roll please)…

Dear Friends and Partners across the World,

Every year seems to be a new stretch and new challenge for ACC. This year’s significant effort of staff and others to bring a sizable and suitable case for accreditation has taken much energy and wisdom. We had the team visit from the Assoc. for Biblical Higher Education Oct. 10-12. Five leaders from five Christian colleges came to determine if we are to be recommended to the Commission on Accreditation for candidate status, the first step in recognized accreditation for us. This means that possibly as soon as next fall, we can begin to receive the benefits attached to candidate status- transfer of credit, excellency in programming, new resources available to the college, and financial aid assistance to our students. This is a monumental step in our short history. Please pray for a positive decision to be reached on Feb. 20, 2008 when the Commission meets. We did receive a 21 page report from the evaluation team and are moving forward with their recommendations. Thanks to the hundreds of you who prayed for us- we seek God’s favor for this area of our overall ministry. Here is our update!

Freshmen- We are not used to this. We have maybe one or two students who come to ACC who have not made their first time profession of faith in Christ. We now know of five students who have taken that personal step of faith and we had a birthday party for all of them just a few weeks ago! While we are committed to the task and focus of discipleship, we are aware that we ALWAYS must be open to the Holy Spirit to lead us to students who need that first step of commitment before the discipleship training and mentoring begins! Please pray for these new believers!

Faculty- We are excited to welcome Roy and Carol Nachtigal from Minnesota (another MN family!) who are serving as our Dir. of Facilities for a two year period as we have said farewell to Glen and Millie Mehrkens who have faithfully served in many places over the past five years. Welcome Nachtigals! We are so grateful also for our resident life staff who are in the trenches daily with students. Pray for their strength as they deal with students who are searching for life’s answers and the love of the Lord. Pray also for Curtis and KristiIvanoff on sabbatical at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago as he finishes his master’s degree.

Facility- We love the new (used) log home that we have purchasedwith a mortgage! It is rented right now but next summer it will be remodeled by work teams to become the new home of New Hope Counseling Center. Are you coming this summer on one of our six work teams to help us do that? Great news- we are using the new Peninsula Conference Center regularly with our campus body and many guests. Last week, 190 people came for New Hope’s fundraiser dinner- our largest crowd yet! It was a flawless event! Pray for our summer teams to fill the open weeks remaining.

Finances- Do you receive our newsletter in the mail? It comes 4 times a year and will come soon as you consider your year end giving. We can also charge your credit card, paypal, or automatic withdrawal from your checking account this year! Please contact me at KJHamilton@aol.com if you so choose. We saw last year the beginning of our Anchoring Our Future campaign with the first year’s goal to complete facility expansion. This wasaccomplished with the Conference Center’s upstairs and downstairs completion. THIS YEAR, our campaign goal and vision is to be ACCREDITED and end of the year gifts will assist us in seeing that prayerfully come to fruition. Please consider now your end of the year giving to ACC for this major anchor to be assured- the ACCREDITATION anchor.

My thanks for your partnership in Kingdom work all these years- this is our seventh year of ministry and the best is yet to come! Join us! See the Class of 2008 on the attachment…
