Report from Anatolii Lyashok about the work done in April- May 2007. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Revival church.

The most important event of April was the preparation and celebration of Easter.

I have been preaching for three Sundays of April: the 1st, 8th and 15th. – a week before Easter (called Palm Sunday), on Easter and the next Sunday after the Easter.

This month was kind of tense, but at the same time it was a happy and blessed month! Good preparation, good service, there were lots of unbelievers on Easter who heard about the victory of Jesus. Our believers distributed invitation cards for the Easter celebration and put big Easter posters in the theaters before the Easter celebration.

There was a good service, tea drinking party on Easter at the church and in the evening there was a festival where 12 churches of our city participated.

On April 20th I went for study that lasted almost one month. It was a special course for the pastors. The trip was interesting and useful as during our study our team visited about 10 large churches. We had an opportunity to talk to the leaders of the churches, watch the services, talk to the Christians. The study took place in Seoul, South Korea. The brothers managed to do the work well, so everything was fine in the church. Praise the Lord!

I got back on May 18th and started to work on May 19th.
While I was gone there were several problems with the construction of the church so the rest days of May turned to be tense and difficult.

Praise the Lord, for today the main questions are solved and everything goes smoothly. Life and work continue to go in the right direction. In general, everything is going well in the church, everything is ok with the construction, better to say with the finishing of the construction.

On May 27th we celebrated Trinity. After the service we had additional service with tea drinking party.

On May 28th we lead a seminar in our church which is called «Total Evangelization of the city». One Christian mission is ready to provide us with the good posters, which we will distribute to all the houses of the city so that to tell them about God and offer people to study Bible. We need about 80 thousand of such posters.

We will try to make a first trial step – we will distribute 2 – 3 thousand and then we will distribute them all.

Here are some plans for summer time to pray for and work for.

June 2007

  1. June 2nd – 11th. To visit churches of Sakhalin together with the Head of Bible College of Khabarovsk Svyatoslav Tuytuynnik. Meetings, fellowships, seminars.
  2. June 12th. Trip to the nature – Akulovka river. Rest and fellowship at the nature. We invite unbelievers as well.
  3. June 16th. Cleaning day – clean territory around the church, the quay near the church.
  4. June 23rd. Wedding ceremony in the church: Vladimir Soloviev and Yulia Kondratuyk.

July 2007

  1. July 15th congregation meeting:
    1. Further pastoral ministry of Anatolii Lyashok.
    2. Vote for the new church board (please pray for the pastor and brothers)
  2. Distribution of the papers of the project «Total Evangelization».

August 2007

  1. August 1st – 11th there will be Christian camp for the kids. Head of the camp will be Vlad Rozhkov. Many people from our church will go there as a camp staff and also kids from our church will be there.
  2. August 11th there will be Music Festival of the professional Christian bands and singers such as: «Salvation», «Selakh», Patlis – he is from well known group «New Jerusalem», Yankovskii and others.

September 2007

  1. To participate in the celebration of the City Day – our city will turn 125 years. There will be special “Street Outreach” project. (we need ideas and people).

Additional questions for prayer

  1. for those who will soon be baptized – 2 people.
  2. for the team who attends «Project Timothy».
  3. for the Zimin’s family – Aleksander and Natasha. They have a desire to come to Sakhalin and serve in the church (they studied in Moscow Seminary)
  4. for the new project Evangelistic project: Evangelization of the city. We need person who will be in charge of it and assistants.
  5. improvement of all the ministries in the church. (For the people who are in charge).
  6. for summer time. For God’s glory and for Christian’s joy.
  7. for the finishing of the construction and showing the church building to the authorities.
