Update from Joni, Nangsar & Family

August 17, 2007

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Heart felt greetings to all of you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior. We are writing to you again after a long time of silence. Many of you may be wondering if we are still on the planet! Well, we are grateful to be in a position to say that we are all still here. Because of God’s amazing love and your faithful prayers and encouragement, we now feel we are finally ready to get back in the saddle again. Nangsar and I want to thank all of you for being patient with us during this very difficult year. Your prayers have been crucial in helping us get back on our feet and reconstituting ourselves as a family.

I am writing this letter from Chiang Mai, Thailand. Katherine and I have come out first as her school year started on August 14 th. Katherine is now in 7th grade. She is excited about going into junior high after spending a wonderful year attending 6th grade at Eastside Christian School. She had a great experience there as the school uses a Christian based curriculum. Nangsar will return to Thailand on August 21 st. She had to stay behind in the States for a few more weeks to undergo treatment for a sprained back! Nangsar says her condition has improved dramatically and she now feels like she is back to normal again.

As the three of us return to Thailand, we leave behind Anthony and Benjamin in California. Anthony took a year off from his studies to be with us during this past year. His presence was crucial. He has been working at the Guitar Center at Brea, California. He has also been testing the waters as a singer/songwriter. If anyone is interested in getting in touch with him his e-mail address is apmorse@gmail.com. Benjamin is working at the Honda Center (formerly the Anaheim Ducks stadium), and the Red Lobster. He is also planning to take a few classes at Fullerton Junior College this fall. God has done a real miracle in his life. And for this, we will be forever grateful to all of you who have lifted him up in prayer. Our daughter Rebecca graduated from Cal State University in May. She is now in Alexandria, Egypt where she will enroll in a ten-week certificate course in Teaching English as a Second Language. She plans to join us in Thailand by mid November to see how she can help in the work. Rebecca’s e-mail address is zvmiram@gmail.com.

Our main goal this time round is to seek the Lord’s direction concerning every aspect of work that used to be on our plate. The counsel that we have received from many quarters is that we should now transition into more of a coaching/mentoring role in our ministry. Since all of our national coworkers have done such an outstanding job of stepping up to the plate during our absence, we will not attempt to pick up any of the work that they are now shouldering. We will concentrate more on capacity building and empowering.

Well, I better send this off before another day goes by. Now that we are back on the field we will get back to keeping you posted concerning developments on this end. Thank you for holding our family up in prayer during our darkest night.

Love,

Joni, Nangsar and Family
